Meritorious Service Award Winners

Left to right: RWB Denver Phelps and WB Stephen Hooper
I thought I'd share this photo--these are two members of my Lodge, Ogden Lodge No. 754 (IL) that were awarded the MSA Award last weekend by the Scottish Rite Valley of Danville.  Both of them are Past Masters--Stephen Hooper currently serves as Treasurer, and Denver just left the East a couple weeks ago for the second time.  I believe they are the first two recipients of that award in our Lodge's history.  And there aren't many more deserving.  They are instrumental in running our Lodge, and they travel sometimes two or three nights a week doing degree work all over our area--they've been made honorary members of I couldn't guess how many Lodges at this point.  They've been doing this for as many years as I've been a Mason.  And they're both active members of Homer Lodge No. 199, too!  Both Past Masters there also, and Hooper currently serves as Secretary and Denver as Marshall.  As you can see, these are two very busy Masons.

These two have been a very good model for members of my Lodge, and I just wanted to point them out.  They do a lot of work, and have received very little recognition for it in the past--so this was a very long time in coming!

Congratulations!
