Favorite Moment: Scottish Rite Valley of Danville Fall Reunion

Valley of Danville (IL)
One of the things I always look forward to are the twice annual reunions at the Scottish Rite Valley of Danville (NJ).  The degree work is always excellent, and it's always fun to get back together and share a lot of laughs.  We just finished our Fall Reunion this weekend and this one seemed especially festive as the Danville Consistory celebrated its 100th Anniversary!

I had a lot of favorite moments from this very full and busy weekend, but this one was particularly funny.  For some reason, everything seemed to run a bit behind this weekend, so there was a lot of sitting around and waiting for the degrees to start.  One of our more extroverted members, Bro. J. R. Thomas, got a little bored apparently, and started doing rope tricks in his seat in the auditorium.

I haven't learned yet to always be alert...
It wasn't long before he was noticed from the director's booth, and the lights suddenly went out, and the spotlight hit him--he never missed a lick.  He did a hilarious impromptu performance for those waiting for the degree to begin.  Greg Knott was able to capture the end of that performance.

We're lucky--our Valley is full of very talented members, and when you put that many talented people together, you just never know what's going to happen (and some surprises are better than others).
